NLA squad proves too strong, but the Barracudas suited up for a cause bigger than the scoreboard.
Under the lights of Heerenschürli, the Barracudas 3 suited up in their pink uniforms for a special cause — raising awareness for breast cancer — but the NLA squad had other plans. The Zürich Barracudas NLA ran away with a 17–5 victory in the inter-club showdown, powered by a dominant pitching performance from Nicholas Michael Miceli who threw a perfect 3.0 innings with 7 strikeouts on just 30 pitches.
The Barracudas 3 showed early fight, matching the NLA squad 3–3 through two innings, but the wheels came off in the sixth when the NLA erupted for eight runs. Peguero took the loss after just 0.2 innings pitched. On the offensive side, Juan Malchans led the club going 2-for-4 with 2 RBI. Captain Jose Medina continued his hot streak with 2 hits. Jhomar Rosa Lima added 2 hits and an RBI, and Kelvis Garcia chipped in with a clutch RBI of his own.
The Pink Game raised funds for breast cancer research — a reminder that baseball is bigger than the scoreboard. Every run scored, every out made, every inning played carried meaning beyond the final score. The Barracudas 3 wore the pink with pride.
